Offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), FRM certification sets you apart in the global marketplace and gives you a strong understanding of the underlying risk management concepts in today’s ever-changing financial markets. It also lets employers know that you take risk management seriously and that your knowledge has been validated by international professional standards.
Currently, more than 50,000 certified FRMs are employed internationally at nearly every major bank, asset management firm, hedge fund, consulting firm, and regulator in the world. There are only 12 registered certified FRM specialists in Kazakhstan, but market starts to recognize and demand FRM qualification.
FRM Exam Format
The FRM Exam Part I and Part II are pencil-and-paper, multiple-choice 4-hour exams. They are offered solely in English, twice a year in May and November, at over 100 exam sites around the world.
A 100 question multiple-choice exam, the FRM Exam Part I focuses on the tools used to assess financial risk: quantitative analysis, fundamental risk management concepts, financial markets and products, and valuation and risk models. Part I is always offered in the morning and must be completed in four hours or less. Part II
FRM Exam Part II is an 80 question multiple-choice exam, emphasizing the application of the tools acquired in Part I: market, credit, operational and integrated risk management, investment management as well as current market issues. Part II is always offered in the afternoon and must be completed in four hours or less. Part III
After achieving a passing score on both parts of the FRM Exam, candidates must demonstrate a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in finance or a related field to complete their certification. Related work experience may include: trading, portfolio management, academia, industry research, auditing, risk consulting, or risk technology
What you should do to become an FRM Candidate :
Step 1. Decide on which date you are going to write both exams. Exams are held twice a year: in May and November. FRM I is usually written in the morning, FRM II – in the afternoon. Upcoming Exam Dates: May 18, 2019 and November 16, 2019. Step 2. Register for the FRM I exam: Final deadline exam registrations—May 2019 :

Step 3. You are suggested to take preparation courses, offered by AIFC both in Astana and Almaty. Course includes full-time lectures and tutorials, AIFC will provide you with all necessary study books, materials, past exam papers and share the learning tips, techniques.

AIFC financial support
All candidates, that successfully passed one or both exams, will be refunded by AIFC. Repayment includes registration + exam fees +AIFC preparation course (voluntarily). Requirements: completing the exam in 2 years, collecting all payment bills. The maximum refunding amount is $2000 per candidate.
